1 To activate various programs for public participation In order to increase the physical capacity of youth of different age groups of the State and to make interest of the game, large number of youth are involved in organizing Long Distance Running and Cycle Races at Taluka and District level. To this Rs.1500/- for Taluka level Marathon, Rs.4000/- for District level Marathon, Rs.500/- for Taluka level Cycling Race, and Rs.1400/- for District level Cycle Race grant in aid is provided. 2 To celebrate Sports Day and Sports Week in the districts of the State. Sports Day and Sports Week are celebrated every year in every district of the State, with the objective of creating sports culture and creating sports environment in the State. This includes various activities related to sports, competitions, sports festivals, seminars, exhibitions etc. Each District is given grant in aid for that, subject to the rules of the Government, the office the District Sports Officer is celebrating every year the 29th August, birth day of Major Dhyan Chand as the National Sports Day. As well as the Sports Week is also organize between the periods from date 12th to 18th December. During this week youth activities related to youths are implemented. Concern District Sports Officer
3 Extension of youth welfare in rural area arranging essay and elocution competition. An essay and elocution competitions are arranged for youths in the 15 to 35 age groups at various levels. The subject for these competitions is selected by considering the points related to youth, i.e. National Integration, Social Development and National Development etc. For this competition the first three numbers are given prizes worth Rs.500/-, Rs.300/-, Rs.100/- Concern District Sports Officer
4 Financial assistance to youth centre and other organizations (to celebrate youth day and youth week) The Birth date of Swami Vivekananda i. e. 12 January is celebrated as national youth day in every district foe overall development of youth and stimulating youth for participation in national & social work. Swami Vivekanand’s birth day is celebrated in every district as National Youth Day on January 12, to promote the overall development of youth and motivate the youth to participate in national & social work.
