Khelo India - Creation/renovation and use of sports facilities. |
In order to create, Central Government Sports facilities, the earlier existing scheme, 'Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme' has already been transformed in to a 'Play India/ creation of sports facilities / renovation and use'. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to 100 percent(within Government grant limit) for construction of sports facilities through the Central Government. Eligible Institutions for grant in aid :- 1. Sports authority / State Sports Council. 2. Local self Government Bodies. 3. Schools/Colleges, Universities through the Central/ State Government. 4. Sports Control Boards 5. Sports Authority of India 6. Apart from this, other organizations fixed by the Departmental Approval Project Committee. The proposals received by the District Sports officer are submitted to the Government with a recommendation of Principal Secretary, School Education and Sports Department of Government of Maharashtra have been submitted to the Central Sports Ministries. |

Dhyanchand Life Time Achievement Award - this is highest life time achievement award in the field of sports. The players who have extra ordinary achievement in his career and spending post retirement life for the cause of sports, is felicitated with Dhyanchand Life Time Achievement Award . The nature of this award is memento, certificate, blazer and cash Rs. 5.00 lacs. Rajiv Gandhi Khelratna Award - Players who have most remarkable and notable achievements for the country during past 4 years are felicitated with Rajiv Gandhi Khelratna Award. The nature of this award is a medal, certificate, and cash Rs. 7.50 lacs. Arjun Award - Players who have given most remarkable performance in International tournaments are felicitated with Arjun Award. The nature of this award is a medal, certificate, blazer and cash Rs. 5.00 lacs. Dronachary Award - This award is given to the trainers who have trained players who have given most remarkable performance in International tournaments and achieved excellent performance for which our country is proud in order to incentivize those trainers. The nature of this award is a medal, certificate, blazer and cash Rs. 5.00 lacs. National Sports Promotion Award – This award is given to the persons who have taken active participation in promoting, and spreading games in the country and given their valuable contribution by actively participating in the working of various sports organizations, associations, federations, and sports control boards etc. by conferring memento. Padma, Padmabhushan, Padmawibhushan Awards – Padma, Padmabhushan, Padmawibhushan Awards are one of the highest civil awards and are very prestigious. These awards are given for best remarkable service in various fields. The criterion for this award is that such best remarkable service in the concerned field and must have a factor of social service in it. |

Organization of Khelo India - National School Games Competitions. |
Central Government through the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has decided to organize Khelo India Competitions from 2017-18. Competitions of following games are organized under this scheme: Archery, Boxing, Judo, Gymnastics, Swimming, Athletics, Weight Lifting, Badminton, Wrestling, Rifle Shooting, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, Football, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis. Out of the competitions of above games at National level, one thousand athletes are being selected and will be provided financial aid of Rs. 5.00 lakh per year for upcoming eight years for their preparation for International competition. |
