1 Swayamsiddha - Autonomous woman self defence training program. The Government of Maharashtra as per Sports Policy of 2001 has included principle of fitness through sports in the scheme of Swayamsiddha self defence program for women. Since 2003 the Sports Department of the Government of Maharashtra has been implementing self defence schemes for women. Under this scheme, the training coaching camps are organized at District, Divisional and State level and through this Master Trainers are prepared. The main object is that these trainers must visit District places and prepared beneficiaries. 2 State Youth Policy 2012 - Establishment of State Youth Development Fund The state youth development has been set up in order to effectively implement the activities of youth development at District level and an encouragement and financial assistance to the emerging youth in the State. By using the funds of this scheme, the activities like Youth Gatherings, Workshops, Discussions, Youth Conferences are organized and also financial assistance is provided to male and female youth activists engaged in the social work activities. 3 State Youth Policy 2012 - The establishment of State Youth Training Centre. The Government has approved the Youth Training Centre for the youth of the State by introducing modern technology and bringing it as a powerful competitor in the era of competition. The training centre will continue to work on the principle of recognizing the needs of the youth, learn, lead and contribute to the fulfillment of those needs. Through this centre, various training programs for youth empowerment, workshops and seminars are organized. It also focuses on research, advice and assistance. Under this scheme, Youth / Maiden of the age group of 13 to 35 will be beneficiary. The information of the program organized by this centre is carried out through the District Sports office of the State to the Yuva Mandals / institutions. The names of the youth working in their organization are requested by the respective organizations and the program committee has selected trainees for various initiatives. 4 State Youth Policy 2012 - Establishments of Youth Hostel. Youths have to go to town for employment, business, education, interviews, guidance and training from time to time. At the same time the Government has taken a policy decision to establish a youth hostel i.e. available in the revenue head quarters of the six revenue department in the State with the aim of making them permanent place for their residence. Under this scheme for establishment of Youth Hostel an amount of Rs.4.00 Cr. for Aurangabad, Rs.1.88 Cr. Crores for Mumbai, Rs.3.70 Cr.for Nasik, Rs.3.70 Cr. for Nagpur, Rs.3.70 Cr. for Amravati and Rs.233.60 Cr.for Pune has been disbursed. 5 State Youth Policy 2012- To arrange training camps for developing youth leadership and personality development. Every year the scheme is implemented for developing youth leadership and personality development of 1 young and 1 maiden in the age group of 13 to 35 from each district who have received the District Youth Award. There is a plan to organize 6 resident training camps of 15 days in 8 Divisional District. For this a provision of Rs.3.15 lakh per camp has been approved. 6 Financial assistance for hostel at Aurangabad. A Youth Hostel is established at Aurangabad with the joint participation of State and Central Government in order to provide opportunity to indigenous and foreign youths for exchanging their views and thoughts and also to provide food and an accommodation facility in concessional rates. On providing a Government land admeasuring 2 acre at a nominal rent through an agreement. The construction of hostel carried out by Central Government. A Warden and Assistant Warden is appointed by the Central Government for managing the hostel. However, the expenses of salary and allowances, travelling expenses, office expenses, maintenance and repairs of the hostel building etc. are incurred by the State Government. 7 State Youth Policy 2012 - Organization of Youth Festival To preserve the culture of state and tradition the Youth Festival is organized at District/State/National level. This includes the youth of 13 to 35 age groups. These festivals include Folk Dance, Folk Songs, One Act Plays (English / Hindi), Classical Singing (Hindustani), Classical Dance, Sitar, Flute, Table, Veena, Mrudang, Harmonium (light), Guitar, Manipuri Dance, Odyssey Dance, Bharat Natyam Dance, Katthak, Kuchipudi Dance, Elocution etc. Under this scheme a provision of Rs.75,000/- per District and Rs.1.25 laks per Region is made available.
