1 5 percent job reservation in Government/Semi Government and other sectors to meritorious players. Under this scheme certificate of medal winning players of State, National and International sports competitions are verified. On the basis of his certificate, the players can apply on the post reserve for them in the Government / Semi - Government sector. On the basis of verification of certificate the players are eligible for an appointment under 5 percent reserved scheme. According to the Residential address of the player the Divisional Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Services verify the sports certificates and provides a verification certificate. The sports disciplines included in the Olympic games / Asian Games/ Commonwealth Games Tournament and Indigenous games like kho-kho, Kabaddi, Chess and Mallakhamb are included under this scheme. 2 To develop sports facilities (Divisional /District/Tahsil Sports Complex construction Scheme) under the Maharashtra Sports Infrastructure Development Plan. Various sports facilities are being developed by establishing Divisional, District and Taluka Sports complexes to preserve and develop sports culture in Maharashtra. Divisional Sports Complex - In order to create an International/National standard sports facilities in Nine divisions on the State, a grant of Rs.24.00 Cr. is admissible for each division. District Sports Complex - In order to create National standard sports facilities in each District, a grant of Rs.8.00 Cr. is admissible for each District. Taluka Sports Complex - In order to create minimum sports facilities of various sports at each Taluka of the State, a grant of Rs.1.00 Cr. is admissible for each Taluka. 3 State Sports Policy 2012 - Organization of State level Sports Training Camps In the State, since couple of years the Government has been trying hard for promotion, publicity, spreading and deserving of sports culture. The sports performance of these players in the rural and urban areas of the State is adding to the reputation of Country and State. For making the players, game infrastructure, guidance of sports coaches, sufficient material for practice and training, training action plan, practice to master the games skills, regular training, competitions, guidance of psychotherapy experts for the positive mentality of players, dietician, massagist, physiotherapist for treating injuries etc. the State level Sports Training Camps are organized. 4 State Sports Policy 2012-Organizing training camps for Sports Teachers. A nutritional atmosphere is necessary for conservation, propagation, spreading and fostering sports culture in the State. It is necessary that the sports teachers must know the timely changed and modern techniques in various games, new games and scientific information about the game. In order to enhance the knowledge of sports coaches functioning at Taluka, District, Division and State level, and aware them from timely changes taking place in the field of sports. 10 selected sports teachers from each District are provided training as Master Trainers. 5 Scheme of offering free S. T. travel concession to the ARJUN AWARDEE, SHIVCHHATRAPATI AWARDEE, AND DADOJI KONDDEV AWARDEE in Maharashtra for intra state travelling. In order to attract more and more young boys and girls towards sports and to uplift there social status and to confer social prestige to them, there is a scheme of offering free concession travel service through ordinary / semi Luxury Luxury buses run by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation to the Dronacharya Awardees, Arjun Awardees, Best Coach Awardees, and Shivchatrapati Awardees. 6 Shivchatrapati State Sports Award. Best Sports Coach Award and Jijamata Award (For Women Coach) : The Excellent Sports Coach Award is given to honor the Sports Coach who have been encouraged to participate in National and International level by performing outstanding performance in Maharashtra's sports field. 7 Shivchatrapati State Sports Award Shivchatrapati State sports Award ( player): This Shivchatrapati state sports Award (player) is given with a view to felicitate the player in Maharashtra State who provides outstanding performance in the field of sports. Every year 1 male and 1 female from different sports disciplines is selected for this award. (39 sport disciplines specified in the Government Resolution). The players participating in Olympic / World Sports Tournaments, securing first / second / third place in Asian Games / Commonwealth Games and also Arjun awardees of Central Government is directly given Shivchatrapati state sports Award for player. 8 Shivchatrapati State Sports Award Shivchatrapati State Sports Award ( Divyang player) : This Shivchatrapati State Sports Award i.e. Eklavya sports award ( Divyang player) is given with a view to felicitate the divyang players in Maharashtra who have given remarkable performance in sports field. 9 Shivchatrapati State Sports Award Shivchatrapati State Sports Award (adventurous) : This award is given to a persons who have shown an International standard performance by participating in the adventurous sports events and suitable persons who have made valuable contribution in the sports reputation of Maharashtra State. 10 Shivchatrapati State Sports Award Shivchatrapati state sports life time achievement Award: The senior sports persons, senior sports coach, sports organizer, and persons related to the field of sports who have dedicated their entire life with all their capacity for welfare of sports and games are felicitated as senior sports stalwarts by giving Shivchatrapati time achievement award to them. 11 Maharashtra State Sports Policy-1996. The financial assistance through Maharashtra State Sports Council to the Sports Association. The financial aid is provided to the Single Game State and District level sports Associations, Sports Institutions, Sports Bodies and other organizations working for the development of sports through Maharashtra State Sports Council under following category. 12 To implement the rules and guiding instructions for organizations arranging events in the Adventure Sports like Trekking, Mountaineering, Skiing, Snow Boarding, Parasailing, Air Sports events (Hang Gliding, Paragliding) Water Sports etc. In the State many organizations are organizing Trekking and Mountaineering campaigns. These organizations do not have trend collaborates within area. These organizations do not make adequate arrangements for the safety of the troops going to trekking. In such trekking campaigns they do not have a Doctor or if they have a Doctor, they do not have adequate medical supply with them. Many organizations are untrained in this field. One of the children who went to trekking in Himalaya with one of the Institution has suffered an accidental death due to respiratory problems. In this regard his parents had filed a Public Interest litigation No.184/2004 in the Honorable High Court at Mumbai. Considering the instructions given by the Honorable High Court on dt.12.7.2013, the Government has issued certain guidelines for organizing trekking, Mountaineering, Skiing, Snowboarding, Parasailing, Hang Gliding, Water sports etc. Directorate of Sports and Youth Services Pune
13 Organization of Ashwamedh (Krida Mahotsav) Inter University Sports Tournaments. In the State there is nutritional environment for promotion, spread and preservation of sports culture. The Sports is necessary for developing interest among children through sports festival, social unity and entertainment. It is possible to promote the development of the game through sports festivals. Organizing various sports competition will create a complimentary atmosphere for the growth of sports culture. In the Maharashtra State, an Inter University level tournament i.e. Ashwamedh (Krida Mahotsav) Inter University Sports Tournament has been organized every year since 1997. 14 Maharashtra state sports policy-2012 Development of Talim and Wrestling Center. The contribution of Talim and Akhada is important for chanting the tradition of Wrestling in Maharashtra. Wrestling has a special interest on sports in rural and urban areas. This game is mainly played in the soil and mat section. The special identification is found in the rural areas of the soil and talim / wrestling centers in the urban areas. Considering the changes in the wrestling system, wrestlers have expressed their feeling of modernization of Akhada/Talim for time to time. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to provide such sports facilities to keep traditional sports like Wrestling alive. 15 Incentive grant to State Sports Associations. In the National Tournament Maharashtra's teams perform spectacularly in various sports tournaments. But their performance is not properly evaluated. It is not possible for State Associations to promote and spread the games due to final crises. It is encouraging subsidy by considering this matter, it is essential that the concerned Association must utilize this grant for develop their game in the State. 16 Maharashtra State Sports Policy-1996. Financial assistance to State Sports Associations for participation of State teams in the authorized National Tournaments This scheme is being implemented for the purpose of facilitate skilled players in Maharashtra to represent the State in various National Tournaments. Under this scheme, the financial assistance is provided to motivate the concerned State Sports Associations of different games to help them for participation of State teams in various National Tournaments and also financial assistance is provided to teams who are not financially competent for making representation of State team in the National Tournament. 17 Maharashtra State Sports Policy-1996. The financial assistance to authorized State Associations for arranging Pre National Tournament Coaching Camps. There is great contribution of various sports Association of various sports discipline in the preservation and development of sports culture. In view of strengthening these authorized State Associations of various sports, the Government provides financial assistance for the arrangement of Pre National Tournament Coaching Camps as per the State Sports Policy of Maharashtra. 18 Maharashtra State Sports policy-1996 Grant in Aid from Maharashtra State Sports Council Fund- To issue an approval through Maharashtra State Sports Council. 19 Maharashtra state sports policy,1996 : The financial assistance through Maharashtra state sports federation funds: Financial assistance for organizing authorized State/National/ International Sports Tournaments Grant is issued for organizing official State/ National / International Sports Tournaments to the single game State and District level sports organizations, games organizations, sports bodies engaged in the development of sports and games and organizations engaged in sports development along with their other activities and organizations through Maharashtra state sports federation funds. 20 A comprehensive policy regarding distribution of flats under Government 5 percentage and 2 percentage discretionary quota. In order to create healthy atmosphere for the promotion, propagation, canvassing and preservation of sports culture in the State, the Government has taken decision to allot Flats from the 5 percentage and 2 percentage discretionary quota to the awardees of Padma Puraskar and medal winners of Olympic, Asian and Commonwealth Games. The Urban Development Department of the State Government look after implementation process under this scheme. 21 National Cadet Corp - N. C. C. National Cadet Corp force is established in all over the Country in the year 1948-49 for the students at Secondary, Higher Secondary and College level in the educational institutions. In Maharashtra State, N.C.C. is included as an optional subject activity in the revised curriculum pattern 10 + 2 + 3 implemented since the educational year 1972 - 73 for students at Secondary, Higher Secondary and College level in the educational institutions. There are 7 Group Commanders, Group Head Quarters, and 60 offices of Commanding Officers working under N.C.C. in the State of Maharashtra. Under the establishment of N.C.C. offices in the State, the training is provided to the Cadets of schools / colleges in Senior and Junior Divisions. The training is provided to the 829 Schools, 541 Colleges and 20 Universities through the N.C.C. offices in the State of Maharashtra. The Central and State Government jointly organizes various N.C.C. activities such as Republic Day Parade (camp), Army Camp, Army Attachment Camp, Annual Training Camp, Air Force Camp, Navy Camp, Advance Leadership Camp, National Integration Camp, Rock Climbing Camp, All India Trekking Camp, Ship Attachment Camp, Special National Integration Camp, Combined Annual Training Camp, Basic Leadership Camp N.C.C. 22 Late Bhai Nerurkar Chashak State Kho-Kho Tournament Late Bhai Nerurkar Chashak State Kho-Kho Tournament is organized every year in order to inspire the emerging Kho-kho players in the State of Maharashtra by providing opportunity to participate in the State Kho-Kho tournament and also to facilitate the Kho-Kho game lovers to watch the skill of quality players and their game. For the organization of State tournament under this scheme; the fund of Rs. 50 lac is made available to the host district. Out of the said fund; amount to be spent on the cash prizes as well as accommodation, food, travelling etc. of sportsman, administrator, coaches and officials. 23 Krida Prabodhini In order to select the talented players and mould them into International and Olympic level players and provide them with scientific training, balanced diet, and modern sports facilities, Government of Maharashtra has initiated Krida Prabodhini in the state. Eleven Krida Prabodhini has been established at various places in Maharashtra such as Shivchhatrapati Kridapeeth Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Thane, Amravati, Akola, Nashik, Nagpur, Pravaranagar, Aurangabad, and Gadchiroli. At these 11 sports academies, guidance is provided on 16 different sports namely Judo, Gymnastics, Hockey, Shooting, Football, Aquatics(Swimming, Diving), Athletics, Wrestling, Badminton, Archery, Handball, Table Tennis, Weight Lifting, Triathlon, Cycling and Boxing, etc. Admission to KRIDA PRABODHINI 1. BATTERY OF TEST:It is organized by District Sports offices. The 9 tests with a weight age of 3 marks each are:Height; Weight; 30 m. Flying Start; Standing Broad Jump; Medicine Ball Throw; 6 X 10 m. Shuttle Run; Forward Bench and Reach (Flexibility); Vertical Jump; 800mRun. These tests are arranged at Taluka and District level by concerned offices of District Sports Officers for the boys and girls students. Students obtaining 17 or more marks out of 27 marks in these tests are selected on merit of marks with the upper cap of 20% number of the available seats and they are called for medical examination. Final admission of trainees to Krida Prabodhini are finalized on the basis of medical examination report. 2. DIRECT ADMISSION PROCESS: Direct admission to pre admission test for the eligible players who have medals in State Level tournaments or participated at National Level in the types of games available for training in the Krida Prabodhini; and are allotted 40 % seats of total available seats on clearing the pre admission test. 3. GAME WISE SKILL TEST :Admission for the remaining 40 % of available seats is given on the basis of skill test; to players who have participated in the State Level tournaments of games available for training in Krida Prabodhini A separate school is run for trainees in the Krida Prabodhini Pune and in case of other 10 Krida Prabodhini education is provided to trainees of Krida Prabodhini at the best local school available. All the trainees are provided with sophisticated trainings in two sessions by the expert coaches in their respective games. 24 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chashak State Volleyball Tournament Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chashak State Volleyball Tournament is organized every year in order to inspire the emerging Volleyball players in the State of Maharashtra by providing opportunity to participate in the State Volleyball tournament and also to facilitate the Volleyball game lovers to watch the skill of quality players and their game. Late Khashaba Jadhav Chashak State Wrestling Tournament is organized every year in order to inspire the emerging wrestlers in the State of Maharashtra by providing opportunity to participate in the State Wrestling tournament and also to facilitate the Wrestling lovers to watch the skill of quality wrestlers and their game and also to honour the performance of Olympic medal winner Late Khashaba Jadhav. For the organization of State tournament under this scheme, the fund of Rs. 50 lac is made available to the host district. Out of the said fund, amount to be spent on the cash prizes as well as accommodation, food, travelling etc. of sportsman, administrator, coaches and officials.
